How do Ramona's backcountry soils and terrain move?

You can't read a foundation in Ramona without reading the ground under it, and the backcountry hands you more than one kind at once. These are the local conditions I'm weighing on every inspection:

  • Decomposed granite across the foothills: much of Ramona sits on weathered granite that drains fast but erodes and creeps on a grade. Homes built into or below the slopes toward San Vicente, Mt.
